Caps End Canes Win Streak

2014-11-09

The Hampton Hurricanes 4 game win streak started when they defeated the Fredericton Caps on the road and it was the Fredericton squad who put an end to it Saturday night in Hampton .

With Fredericton taking control of the game from the start it wasn’t until 10:15 of the second that Chris Bamford beat Hampton goalie Ingraham short handed to put the Caps up by one . Five minutes later David Brewer and Alex Simpson found an open Brett Young for the Caps second goal , giving Fredericton a 2 – 0 lead after two .
Despite being assessed three penalties the whole game the two in the third proved costly for Hampton . On a 5 on 3 power play Matthew Brenan and Alex Simpson setup David Brewer increasing the Cap’s lead and before time ran out on the second penalty Chris Bamford found Kent Small for the second power play marker . Cap’s David Brewer with a 3 point night finished the scoring for a Fredericton 5 – 0 win.
Hampton’s Matt Ingraham had a busy night stopping 35 shots and Fredericton goalie Sam King earned the win stopping the 21 shots he faced .
Hampton’s next home game takes place Saturday Nov 15th at 8:15 when they faceoff against the visiting Grand Lake Moose
