Big 3rd Gives Hurricanes Win over Moose

In NBJHL action Saturday Night the Hampton Hurricanes faced off against the Grand Lake Moose and posted a 7 – 4 victory.

The Moose held a one goal lead after the first on a goal fired by Tyler Copeland with Nick Jordan assisting.
Starting the second Hampton’s Chris Forbes found Hurricanes newest addition Brenden Crawford open for his first goal to tie the game. The Moose regained the lead three minutes later when Jordan
once again connected with Copeland for his second of the night. Hampton didn’t give the Moose time to enjoy the lead coming right back ten seconds later with a goal off the stick of Evan LeBlanc assisted by Chris Harford and Ben Shephard to even the match. Grand Lake regained the lead with 3:27 left in the second on a goal by Will Colpitts with Jordan Hutton and Adam Carle assisting on the goal.
With back and forth action through the third it was the Hurricanes who erupted scoring 5 goals in the last 10:52 of the third. Five Hurricanes, including Matt Porter from Forbes & Bennett, Jacob Bass from  LeBlanc, Brad Hooper on the power play from Thompson & Forbes, Jared Kyle assisted by Chamberlain and Bennett  and Chris Forbes for 3 point night assisted by Matt Bennett dented the twine . Grand Lake’s Nick Jordan, assisted by Spencer Doherty and Chris Cormier scored on the power play to make it a 7 – 4 Hurricane win on home ice .
Hampton’s Matt Ingraham earned the win stopping 30 shots while Derek Strang turned away 35.
The Hurricanes are on the road Friday night to take on the Fundy Cobra’s and return home to face off against the Hotel Shediac Predators at the Hampton Community Center Saturday night with a 8:15 game time start.
