Hurricanes Win in O/T

In front of a home crowd the Hampton Hurricanes picked up a 3 –2 O/T win over the visiting Western Valley Panthers.

With 6:11 left in the first Brad Hooper and Matt Porter combined to set up Thomas Rice at the side of the net picking the top right corner from a sharp angle to give Hampton the lead .
Despite both teams having scoring chances in the second both goaltenders stopped what ever came at them and it wasn’t until  13:21 of the third that Cole Weeks beat Hampton’s Matt Ingraham on a point shot to tie the game . Western Valley continued to pressure and were rewarded less than 3 minutes later with Tyler Harding scoring on the power play assisted by Josh Arsenault and Brad Johnston .With 5:49 left in the third Matt Porter once again found an open Thomas Rice for his second of the night to tie the game and force overtime .
Once again in O/T it was a goaltender battle but with 1:08 remaining once again it Matt Porter and Brad Hooper who connected to find Jeff Bergeron open for a point shot beating the Western Valley goalie for the win.
Matt Ingraham stopped 32 shots for the win and Patrick Goudreau faced 38 suffering the loss
The Hurricanes are on the road for a Sunday afternoon face off against the Fredericton Caps and return for their last regular home game taking on The Hotel Shediac Predators next Sunday at the Hampton Community Center . Game time 3:00 PM.
