Hampton Hurricanes Advance

The Hampton Hurricanes didn’t win a home game in a best of five with the Hotel Shediac Predators but were successful winning all three road games to advance to the New Brunswick Junior C Championship.

 Hampton is now preparing for a rematch of last  year 's series against the Western Valley Panthers after  defeating the Predators 5 – 1. 
The Hurricanes travelled to Cap Pele on Monday night for the fifth and deciding game and struck for a two goal lead after the first period on goals from Thomas Rice assisted by Matt Bennett and Brad Hooper . Chris Forbes didn’t miss on his break away opportunity for the second goal of the game .
Midway through the second James Donovan pulled Shediac within one after being set up at the side of the net by Prejean Martin . Hampton’s Matt Porter assisted by Ben Shephard and Brad Hooper regained the two goal lead  2 minutes and 14 seconds before Thomas Rice scored his second of the game unassisted giving the Hurricanes a 4 – 1 lead after two periods of play .
The Predators came out strong in the third but Canes goalie Matt Ingraham shut the door helping secure the win . With Predator goalie Tim Tucker on the bench in favor of the extra attacked , Hurricane James Hill added the fifth marker after Geoff Wilson intercepted a Shediac pass sending Hill to the offence zone on a one on one with 1:59 left in the third for the empty netter.
Western Valley Panthers and the Hampton Hurricanes resume play this Saturday night in Hartland and return to Hampton for a Sunday afternoon game with a 3:15 PM start.
